Welcome!

This will be our opening post to this family book project! As the heading suggests, our blog/book has for it's subject the return of Christ. After Jesus' return to heaven through the clouds, the angels came and told his gawking disciples that he would someday return in the same way he left. Furthermore, at the close of the new testament, Jesus says he is coming SOON.

So, from these verses and others, many have gathered that the church is awaiting the return of Christ, and that it could be in our lifetime.

However, there are other views, which we hope to look into and examine. This is the study of eschatology (end times).

Lest you think we have way too much time on our hands, we'll tell you why we are even doing this. It is not a matter of useless debate or nit-picking. Our understanding of this subject will (or should) have a big impact on what we are doing with our days right now.

In short, should we be realizing this fallen world is on its way out, evil is on the increase, we need to preach the gospel to as many as we can before the soon return of the Lord?

Or rather, should we be re-claiming the culture for Christ, raising our children to become esteemed in the eyes of men so they can influence every sphere of society, make America safe for our grandchildren, etc.?

Are we sojourners here, or are we setting up the kingdom of God?

These are some of the questions we faced many years ago. We hope to encourage others to face them as well and to make sure that the things we are doing today are consistent with what the Bible teaches.
